Welcome!

I’m Jonathan Bennett, a Registered Psychologist in Alberta. I provide counselling and psychotherapy services virtually (Alberta-wide) and I have an office in Calgary, Alberta where I offer in-person sessions.

We all face moments when we feel stuck, struggle, or just need support. Reaching out for help takes courage, and my goal is to make your therapeutic process as safe, straightforward, and effective as possible. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I tailor our therapy specifically to your goals and needs so you get the meaningful results you’re looking for.

Overview:

  • I have a Master’s in Counselling and I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
  • I have experience counselling adults, couples, children, and adolescents from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • I provide personalized, trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples.
  • I have a special interest in how the nervous system, mind and body shape our experiences, relationships, thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

How I Help

Whether you are surviving the long-term impacts of trauma, dealing with strained relationships, or quietly battling anxiety, depression or burnout, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

My approach combines clinical expertise with practical tools and skills to help you find relief, clarity, and meaningful change. I specialize in helping clients navigate:

Your Therapy

Many therapeutic approaches have been shown to be helpful. We work collaboratively to determine what makes sense for you and draw from evidence-based approaches to help you achieve practical, real-world insight and change:

Free Consultation

Having a therapist that is the right fit for you matters. Research shows that a strong, trusting relationship between you and your therapist is an important part of effective therapy. Finding that right match can feel stressful, which is why I offer free initial consultations.

These are no-pressure, 15-minute casual conversations, not a clinical assessment or treatment. It’s an opportunity for us to connect, discuss what you are looking for in a therapist, your hopes for therapy, and decide if my approach aligns with what you need.

I follow the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta’s recommended fee schedule. Individual therapy is $235.00 per session.

A credit card is a secure way to guarantee your appointment and respect both your time and mine. Your credit card will not be charged to book an appointment.

Payment is due at the time of the appointment by the credit card on file. If paying by credit card is a barrier, please contact me.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. As I hold that time in my schedule just for you, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Appointments that are missed, rescheduled, or cancelled within 24 hours of the start time of the appointment are charged the full session fee to the credit card on file.

I understand that life happens and we can’t always meet our commitments. When you book an appointment, my time is reserved just for you. I do charge the full session fee for missed appointments, so I encourage you to book times that you know will work for you, and if you do have to cancel or miss a session, let me know as soon as you can.

*If you have an in-person appointment booked and are unable to attend due to transportation/weather/illness, please contact me before your appointment time and I can provide the session virtually if that works for you.

Each insurance provider and plan can have different limits on what they cover. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to confirm what and how much they cover before booking. If you have questions, or if your insurance company needs more specific information about my services for coverage, you can contact me.

I provide direct billing to Alberta Blue Cross for plans that cover psychological services. If you have questions about what your plan covers, please reach out to Alberta Blue Cross.
